Tree Of Life
An illustration of a Tree of Life (also known as a Phylogenetic tree). This illustrates the history of life on our world with the center at the beginning (4000 million years ago). Meant to show how we are all connected. Time branches across the bottom to both sides tracking different life forms, marking evolution and the major changes on the planet. Every semi-circle includes a timestamp denoting major events and changes such as ice ages and extinction events. Some species are represented in smaller illustrations at the time of the branches.
Included in the series of photos is the chart as seen in biology textbooks. It was my inspiration and reference point.
Original - Watercolor and ink on paper, 25" x 54". SOLD.
